Brown City, ranked No. 9 in the State in Div. 4, totaled 597.8 points over the three rounds to edge out runner-up Capac with 590.1. Cros-Lex placed fourth among the six teams in the division. Troy captured the Division 1-2 title with 674.3 points. The meet was held at Lapeer East High School.

"It was awesome," remarked Coach Stephanie Norris, first-year varsity coach at BC. "The biggest competition we had was Armada and Capac. I'm very proud of the girls. They've worked very hard."

Norris believes her team will get a tougher test at this Saturday's Marine City Invitational and hopes it is a stepping stone for the near future. "The girls want to go to State again. That's always the goal."

Cros-Lex coach Stephanie Davis said her young team is improving despite making changes to their routines in all three rounds of the competition.

"We're not too far away, but the girls are still pretty disappointed. The girls are trying and they are still motivated. Our focus, really, is still on the Regionals," said Davis. She added that a big lift came in the team's third-round performance on Saturday. "We were 31 points higher than last time (Stoney Creek in December). So, that was a huge improvement."

This Saturday, Cros-Lex travels to the Cougar Spirit Invitational at Stoney Creek High School in Rochester.
