MARINE CITY - The Brown City competitive cheer team brought a trophy home for the second consecutive week. The Green Devils, after winning a title at Lapeer East last weekend, claimed runner-up in Division B-C-D at Saturday's Marine City Invitational.

Richmond, a Division 3 state qualifier last year, took first in the division, which consisted six schools.

"We improved our score over the last week, which is awesome," said BC coach Stephanie Norris. "Richmond was first overall, point-wise, in both divisions. They're definitely a good team."

Brown City, meanwhile, had the fourth best point total among all 10 varsity squads at Marine City.

"Our goal is to keep improving each week," Norris added.

Brown City will venture to the Armada Invitational this Saturday morning.
