No ranking, but BC cheer claims 2nd title

DAVISON – Despite winning their second team title, and also picking up two runner-up trophies in their four meets this season, the Brown City cheer team found itself out of the Division 4 rankings this week.

The Green Devils did not anything to hurt their former No. 9 slot in the CCCAM rankings on Saturday when they took first in their division at the Davison Invitational. Out of 24 schools, BC had the fourth highest point total. In fact, their score of 682.5 was their best of the season and was less than 30 points behind Ortonville-Brandon, the overall champion.

"We actually led after round one...and then we maintained fourth after that," explained Stephanie Norris, Brown City coach. "I'm pretty impressed.

"We were in contention for overall," she continued. "It was awesome. We went out and had fun. There were a lot of schools from the Metro league. We went to compete and we showed that small schools could do it, too"

Brown City, ranked or not, will be back at it this Saturday at the Bobcat Cheer Classic in Grand Blanc.
