A groundbreaking event

A groundbreaking for the long-awaited public transit bus facility was held Friday in Sandusky. Congresswoman Candice Miller was on hand to present a federal check for $392,000. The 24,000 square foot, two-bay bus garage complex will cost around $1.8 million. So far, the Sanilac Transportation Authority has received around $1 million in grants Ð 80% federal plus state matching grants. When the facility is completed this summer, the agency will move from its current headquarters in Carsonville to the new location on Campbell Road south M-46.
