The Green Devils were in sixth place, among the 10 schools, after the first of their three rounds. That's when trouble set in. They were hit with point deductions in each of the final two rounds and finished with a total score of 635.584, nearly 60 points less than their school-record total at Regionals the week before. "It's not what we wanted," sighed Stephanie Norris, Brown City coach. "But, it was an honor to be there. "We were harshly penalized for some things that we were never penalized on all season. They were little things we missed," she added. "We were disappointed, but we still went out and had fun. It's nice to, again, go to State. Hopefully, we have something to look forward to next year." The squad is expected to have eight returning members next winter. Seniors Lyndsay Loren, Amanda Oligney, Jessica Miller and Brandie Kreiner will graduate this spring. "Those (seniors) were kind of the backbone of the team. They were the encouragers Ð they knew what to expect. They'll definitely be missed." Favored Pewamo-Westphalia captured the team title in Division 4, finishing with 730.056. Hudson was a close second with 725.608. Division 4 results 1. Pewamo-Wesphalia 219.5-221.056-289.5=730.056; 2.
