Diane Schneider of Applegate will serve a two-year term, effective March 15.

She replaces Ingrid Safranek, who was appointed in February, but later notified Council President Wayne Zander she would be unable to fill the position. At the March 7 special meeting Zander told the council he had retained former treasurer Faith Kelley to handle the duties until another treasurer was appointed.

The council discussed conducting an internal audit of the treasurer's ledgers, but took no action.

At the March 21 regular meeting, Sheriff Department Lt. Jim Wagester presented a life-saving award to Police Chief Jason Schoen.

*The council voted to keep the Farm Land Lease payment due date the same. Brad Hartwick had asked to move the due date to December.

They also voted to have an inspection done on Well A.
