All-state, all-academic bowlers



Melanie Ball of Sandusky and Trenten Barr and Travis Clark of Cros-Lex, all seniors, were named to 2007 All-State teams by the Michigan High School Interscholastic Bowling Coaches Association (MHSIBCA).

Ball, who recently won the Singles State title, was named to the Girls Division 3 First Team for the third straight year. Barr was selected to the Boys Division 2 Second Team, finishing with a 220 average this season. Clark, meanwhile, finished on the Boys Division 2 Third Team. Both Ball and Barr were also named to the Graduating Senior All-Academic Teams by the MHSIBCA.

The Golden Pin Award is given by the MHSIBCA each year to the boys and girls top 10 averages in each of the three divisions through Regional competition. This year, Barr was tops in Boys Div. 2 with his 220 average while Sandusky's Matt Arnold, a sophomore, tied for 10th in Boys Div. 3 with a 203 average. On the girls side, Ball was a fraction out of first in Div. 3 with a 192 average.
