Several injured in several traffic crashes



State police and sheriff's deputies investigated several personal injury traffic accidents recently.

On May 16, a south bound driver on Old-51, south of Townsend Road, told deputies he had fallen asleep at the wheel when his 1991 Ford pickup left the roadway and hit an embankment, a tree, a fence and a second tree.

Kristopher Charles Willis, around 20, of Carsonville sought his own treatment.

The accident occurred around 10 a.m. in Lexington Township.

State police investigated three single-vehicle accidents.

On May 14, Christopher Lyle Grubbe, 24, of Marlette was riding a Honda motorcycle south on a private driveway at 4731 Reynolds Road, Marlette Township, when he accidentally stepped on the foot brake which locked up the back tire. Grubbe lost control of the bike and jumped off. He was treated at Marlette Regional Hospital.

The accident occurred at 6:45 p.m.

State police also investigated a one-vehicle crash May 14 involving a 6-year-old boy. According to the report, Daven Jay Mills, 6, of Sandusky was riding a four-wheel Carrol Stream Sport in the backyard at 2218 West Miller Road, when his hand slipped off the handlebar and he fell off the ATV.

The boy was treated at Marlette Regional Hospital. The accident occurred at 7:15 p.m.

On May 13 troopers investigated an accident on private property at 3890 Downington Road. William Allen Hartz, 32, of Snover was riding a 1999 Suzuki CY on his property when he went through a muddy culvert and his foot came off the peg and struck a fence post.

He was treated and released at McKenzie Memorial Hospital. The crash occurred at 7 p.m.
