A The Flint Elks Club, senior Brandon Filbeck of Cros-Lex came up with a strong individual effort, shooting a 79 in the 18-hole event. However, he missed the cut for the individual State Finals, by one stroke. Three other golfers (from schools not qualifying as a team) shot the low rounds of 78 each.

"Brandon had a chance. He bogeyed two out of the last three holes," said Dennis Fabbri, Cros-Lex coach. "It's too bad. It would've been good for him to play at State. He's had a pretty good career."

As a team, Cros-Lex shot a 367, well above recent scores at the BWAC league meet and the Districts. Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook won the Regional title with a 321. Orchard Lake St. Mary's and Pontiac-Notre Dame Prep were next at 326.

At the Division 4 Regional at Mt. Pleasant Country Club, Brown City, the GTC East champions, finished well down the list in the scoring with a 378. Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart ran away with the title with a 318.

Junior Joey Wisniewski led the Green Devils with a low round of 86. Senior Nathan North was next with a 90.
