"Our goal this year is the same as last year - $185,000," said Kent France, director of the United Way. "We know we must find every way possible to surpass last year's $175,000, so my board came up with this idea, and many of the same restaurants who help us with ÔEat All Day for the United Way,' agreed to participate."

Participating restaurants are the Harrington Inn and Bud's Corner CafŽ in Brown City, Champions, Tracy's Breakfast Only, the Corner CafŽ, and the Silver Tavern in Deckerville, the A & W, the Cadillac, Lakeview Hills, Steis's Village Inn, The Flying Taco, and the Landing in Lexington. In Marlette, participating restaurants are Beagio's, Eddie G's, and Llang's Gardens. Port Sanilac restaurants are Huron Shores, the Stone Lodge, Mary's Diner, Uri's Landing, and the VanCamp House; and in Sandusky, Big Boy, China Lee, Liberty Lanes, Maggie's, Main Street CafŽ, McDonalds, and Pizza Hut.

First prize will be 12 dining experiences, second prize seven dining experiences, third prize four, fourth prize two and fifth prize, one.

Tickets are $10 and will be sold until Sept. 6 when the United Way will hold its Kick-off Dinner at Lakeview Hills in Lexington. The winners will be drawn at that time. Anyone wanting to buy a ticket can contact a United Way board member, or one of the United Way funded agencies. They can also call the United Way office at 810-359-7300 or mail a check to the United Way, P.O. Box 245, Lexington, MI.
