The East, coached by Jeremy Macejewski of CPS, trailed the West squad by 19 points, 50-31, at halftime, despite a great effort by Cros-Lex guard Karl Kaufman, who notched 11 of his 15 points for the night.

CPS's Chais Fleming, Richmond's Jake Stark, and Ginther then ignited the second half rally. Fleming, a 6'3" forward, scored 11 points for the night with 10 coming in the final half and OT. Stark, who matched Kaufman's 15 points, tallied 10 in the second half, while Ginther' scored six of his 12 points in the overtime.

Macejewski praised the defensive effort of Kaufman and his three C-L cohorts - Garrett Grundman, Andrew Foley and Gabe Lazurka. "The intensity of the kids from Cros-Lex on defense was unbelievable. They really sparked us." He added, "Ginther (in the second half) did a nice job breaking down their defense. And, Chais did a good job of attacking the basket and ran the floor well."

Grundman, a 6'5" forward/center, hit a key three-pointer late in regulation to help put the game into OT and finished with six points. His C-L teammates, Foley and Lazurka, added 10 and three points.

Seth McVittie of Deckerville scored four points and Mike Pries of Peck had three, all of those coming in the second half rally.

The Kingston duo of Brandon Jones, 19 points, and Tristan Pennington, 14, led the West team. Brown City's Justin McPhail notched 10, Sandusky's Chad Schmidt delivered four points, and Marlette's Kevin Mroczek had one point for the West.
