Ten of the players were on the squad sponsored by Citizen's Federal Bank, which defeated the Eastern Michigan Bank team, 7-4, last Tuesday evening at Pine Grove Park.

Ron Matthews, former Cros-Lex varsity softball coach and currently the St. Clair County Community College women's coach, organized the event.

"Everything went pretty well. We had a great crowd," said Matthews.

"I heard a lot of good comments," he continued. "Sam Kromer (former SC4 coach) was there and he said to me that this should have been done years ago.

"A lot of girls played on a team with players they had played against during the year, but they got to know each other and seemed to have a good time."

Two of the five hits for the Citizen's team were a single each from Sandusky's Krystyna Rickett and Peck's Kristan Fletcher. Deckerville's Amanda Klaus walked, stole a base and scored a run in the fifth inning. Breanna VanCamp of Cros-Lex and Amy Paape of Sandusky each got on base with a walk and Erica Christy of CPS and Liz Bartle of Brown City reached base on a fielder's choice. Sandusky's Lauren Hale started in the outfield and CPS's Jodi Hammond started in the infield..

Allison DeMott of Sandusky pitched two scoreless innings, striking out two while Klaus hurled two innings, giving up three runs and fanning a pair.

Marlette's Keri McClelland was the lone county player on the Eastern Michigan team. McClelland singled and scored a run the sixth inning and also turned in a good defensive play at second base.
