James Bradley was arraigned on six criminal counts Monday afternoon in 73rd District Court in Sandusky. The 33-year-old is charged with: resisting, obstructing police officer causing injury; two counts of domestic violence third offense; two counts of resisting obstructing police; and one count of arson personal property $200-$1000.

Bradley demanded a preliminary examination which was scheduled on July 18 at 2 p.m. Bond was set at $20,000 surety or 10 percent cash.

When Sheriff's Sgt. Jim Wagester responded to a 911 call of domestic assault in progress in the 400 block of Stone, Bradley allegedly came out of a camper trailer, charged the officer and a scuffle ensued, said Sanilac County Undersheriff Garry Biniecki.

Deputies Shelly Park and Nathan Smith arrived on the scene and tasered the suspect, who was then handcuffed and taken into custody.

The 911 call was made Sunday at approximately 9:31 a.m. by an 11-year-old girl. She reported her father was attempting to ignite the camper trailer on fire with her and her mother inside, Biniecki reported.

Bradley was transported to McKenzie Hospital in Sandusky for treatment of possible injuries, while Sgt. Wagester was treated at Marlette Regional Hospital for an elbow injury.
