Kenneth Queen, 34, plead guilty to failing to stop at the scene of a serious personal injury accident before Lapeer Circuit Judge Nick O. Holowka on July 10. According to the plea agreement, the judge will dismiss charges of failing to report and accident and habitual offender second offense.

However, the judge did not accept the plea, which calls for a 90-day jail sentence cap for the felony, which has a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

Sanilac County Prosecutor James Young said the judge will review the probation department report on Queen and take into account whether the victims agree to the plea bargain, which they have.

Queens is scheduled to be sentenced by Holowka in Sanilac County Circuit Court on August 21.

Queen was charges in the June 24, 2007 crash that injured David and Carole Stieler of Marlette. The husband and wife were riding a motorcycle that collided with a car driven by Queen, on M-53 and French Line Road in Marlette Township.

Sanilac Circuit Judge Donald Teeple disqualified himself from hearing the criminal case because Carole Stieler is an employee of his court.
