A head-on crash Saturday around 3:25 p.m. sent two motorists to Marlette Regional Hospital with minor injuries. State Police from the Sandusky Post reported a 2007 pickup driven by Lillian Fitzpatrick, 72, of Marlette was northbound on Germania Road, and attempted a left turn onto French Line in Marlette Township.

Fitzpatrick failed to yield the right of way and turned into the patch of a southbound pickup driven by John Dehring, 52, of Armada. There was heavy front-end damage to both vehicles. Fitzpatrick was treated and release at the hospital, and ticketed for failure to yield. Dehring was admitted to the hospital for observation. Seat belts were used and airbags deployed. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Marlette police, fire and EMS, and Kraft Towing.

Sheriff's deputies investigated two accidents on Saturday.

Central dispatch sent deputies to the corner of M-19 and Snover Road in Moore Township for a two-vehicle crash at 1 p.m. The preliminary investigation showed Helen Edwards, 80, of Gaylord and her daughter Robin Edwards, 49, of Gaylord were eastbound on Snover and failed to stop for the stop sign.

As the Edwards vehicle crossed the intersection it was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by Elaine Laming, 48, of Ubly, and her son Gary Laming, 20. The Edwards were treated at McKenzie Memorial Hospital in Sandusky and transferred to a Covenant Cooper Hospital in Saginaw. They were listed in fair condition on Monday. The Lamings were not hurt.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by firemen from Moore Township and Sandusky, and Sanilac EMS.

Deputies also responded to a one-vehicle accident Saturday evening. Joseph Nichol, 20, of Carsonville was westbound on Washington Road when he attempted a left turn onto Loree road at a high rate of speed. The vehicle left the road, entered a ditch and rolled over

Nichol was transported to McKenzie Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Covenant Cooper in Saginaw in serious condition, according to police. Deputies were assisted by Croswell EMS and Carsonville Fire Department.
