PBA Experience bowling league set to debut at Lakeview Hills this fall

Still room for more bowlers

Ever wonder what it must be like to bowl on the same lane conditions that the pros bowl on?

Well, wonder no more. The PBA Experience is coming to Lakeview Lanes in Lexington.

The league, which begins its eight-week mini-season in October, is seeking 16 more players to fill out its 36-bowler field.

"We've had good response," says league organizer Brian Fazio. "Last season, we had a group of guys who did a lot of practicing on the PBA conditions after our regular league session and this year we've decided to form an official league."

The main idea behind the PBA Experience league format is to help players sharpen their skills while giving them a taste of what it's like on the PBA tour.

But don't think the league is just for Ôtop guns'.

"No, not at all," says Fazio. "This league is for all players looking for the PBA experience. We have players ranging from 150 average all the way up to Del", (in a smiling reference to area all-star Del Shea and his 230+ league average)

"This format is special and this league is unique."

Beginning this October, the short league season will consist of eight weeks of qualifying rounds followed by three weeks of head-to-head match play playoffs.

The players will compete on the PBA lane condition shots including the US Open, PBA World Championship and the Masters.

There will be prize money and weekly jackpots also.

ÔWe hope to fill out the entire 36-player field." The league currently has commitments from 20 players.
