Pirates, Devils collide; kick-off prep football season

Autumn does not officially begin until a month from now. At one time, several years back, football would sort of usher in the fall season. Now, the high school teams in Michigan play two games before Labor Day most years.

The season kicks-off this Friday evening for most of the Thumb Area football teams. The seven Sanilac County teams will be involved in six games, all looking for fast starts.
