The Redskins, now 5-0-1 in the league, needed third-set wins from Mike Schwind and Jose Cardenas at No. 1 and No. 2 singles to complete an earlier match with All Saints (stopped because of rain) and then followed by edging the Cougars, 5-3, in a regularly-scheduled match. All Saints fell to 3-2-1.

With victories at Harbor Beach and Lakers in the next week, Sandusky can take a solid lead into the GTC tournament at Delta College on Sat., Oct. 6. A combination of regular-season standings and tournament standings decides the championship.

In Monday's full match with All Saints, Schwind (No. 1) and Cardenas led a sweep in singles play. All four flights won in straight sets. The ÔSkins' other victory came at No. 4 doubles from Josh Duran and Marc Taormino.
