Anthony Dorothy and his girlfriend Sarah Bauer were charged in Dorothy's attempted escape from the jail last March.

Bauer pled guilty last week to five of the seven charges in Sanilac County Circuit Court. And Dorothy was sentenced on Monday to a long stretch in prison.

Bauer pled to aiding prisoner escape felony, conspiracy to aid a prisoner escape felony, weapon felony firearm, weapon firearms possess short barrel shotgun-rifle, and weapon firearm possession on restricted premises. Two other charges of conspiracy aid prison escape and aid prisoner escape were dropped. In addition, the judge deferred acceptance of the felony firearms count pending successful complete.

The plea bargain calls for four years of probation, a one-year jail sentence cap and requires Baurer to continue therapy.

She is scheduled for sentencing on Nov. 5.

Dorothy pled guilty in August to four felony charges: attempted escape while waiting trial for a felony; conspiracy to escape while waiting trial; conspiracy to possess a short-barreled shotgun; and felony firearms.

Dorothy was sentenced to 10 to 15 years on each count, with the terms served concurrently. However, the prison time must be served consecutive to his previous sentence of nine years six months for robbery and assault in Sandusky.

Dorothy was incarcerated in the county jail awaiting trial for the robbery and assault case last March, when he and Baurer hatched the escape plot.

Dorothy planned to retrieve a shotgun, pepper spray, cattle prod and handcuff key while he was at McKenzie Hospital for treatment. Bauer hid placed the weapons in a bathroom ceiling across from the emergency room in the hospital. Sheriff's officers learned of the plot and had Bauer under surveillance when she hid the items.
