Sponsors add to PBA Experience league

Thanks to sponsor contributions and agreements, bowlers in this fall's PBA Experience League at Lakeview Lanes are going to get some extra media exposure in addition to competing for money and prizes.

Allstate Insurance and Lakeview Hills recently added revenue and prizes to the tournament fund and the Sanilac County News has agreed to report on the results each week as the players vie for the Singles' title.

"It's going to be fun watching the standings each week as players jockey for position," said Dale Ball, Sports Editor of the News. "I expect the seven weeks of qualifying to be similar to NASCAR's Chase for the Cup."

The PBA Experience League consists of a seven-week regular season followed by a three-week match play tournament.

"I'm very happy to promote bowling in our community", remarked league organizer and Allstate representative Brian Fazio, whose agency added revenue to the fund. "And, I especially like the idea of a bowling league like this that gives local players a chance to compete on the toughest of conditions.

In addition to competing for the increased prize fund money, bowlers in the PBA Experience League will also have the opportunity to win a golf membership from Lakeview Hills.

"It may be a little tougher to do in this league compared to our house leagues", said Dennis Fabbri of Lakeview, "but anyone who rolls a 300 game or an 800 series wins a membership for next golf season".

The league, which begins Monday October 15th, has openings for approximately 14 more players. It is individual competition open to both men and women.

Tom Albrecht, a regular league bowler out of Sandusky, has signed up for the league and is anxious to start.

"I'm looking forward to the test", said Albrecht. "I know my entire game will benefit from exposure to these tournament conditions. I anticipate the experience gained will translate to more success on all bowling conditions."

Bowlers interested in reserving one of the remaining spots need to contact Brian Fazio (810-679-BOWL) or Chris Wilson (810-359-7333) for information.
