Ken Stevens, 32, of the Marlette area has won $2 million in the Michigan Lottery Super Raffle.

"That's true," said Stevens, when contacted by the News Monday evening.

Stevens, special finance manager at Tubbs Brothers in Sandusky, bought the ticket at Murphy's USA in Sandusky.

Stevens, who is married and has a 2-year-old daughter and "a baby on the way," said he learned about his good fortune Monday around 3 p.m., a couple hours after the drawing.

What did he think about winning the big money, and what will he do with it?

"I'm kind of in a daze right now, to be honest," he said. "I have no idea. I have no idea."

The lottery commission sold a limited number of $50 tickets Ð 250,000, for the Super Raffle. There were two top prizes of $2 million, 25 winners of $100,000, and 2,500 of $500.

Liz Maxfield, manager of the Murphy's gas station at the west end of Sandusky, said she began hearing rumors the lucky ticket was purchased at her business after the drawing. She called the state lottery commission, which confirmed it.

"I think it's awesome that someone from Sandusky, or hopefully from around here, won," said Maxfield, before she knew the winner's identity.

Stevens is the second major lottery game winner from Sanilac County in recent weeks.

On Oct. 6, Jared Krause of Sandusky won $100,000 playing Keno at Liberty Lanes.
