The Lady Eagles, now 1-1 on the young hoops season, trailed the Hatchets by six, 24-18, at halftime. That's when Foster gunned in one of her three triples of the night to open a third quarter scoring burst. Deckerville went on to build a 37-30 lead in the quarter.

"The girls really picked up the defense, too, in the second half," stated Pat Oswald, Deckerville coach. "We went to man-to-man a bit and that shut them down. It was a great team effort, everybody contributed."

Rich, a 5'7" forward, led all scorers with a career-high 17 points, including a pair of threes.

"She had a great game," lauded Oswald. "She kind of came out of her shell. We knew all along that she is a good athlete."

Foster finished with nine points while Dana Stolicker and Ashley Szymanski each flipped in eight. Stolicker and Szymanski also turned in strong floor games. Szymanski had five of the team's 23 steals on the night and added six rebounds. Stolicker had three steals and five boards.

The Lady Eagles play a non-league contest at Capac this Thursday night and trek to USA on the following Tuesday for a GTC crossover.

Aleesha Smith paced the scoring for Deckerville with seven points. Szymanski had six points and seven boards and Stolicker grabbed eight rebounds.
